My daughter’s seizures dramatically escalate with every big storm. Hurricane Florence’s scope is so big, there is nowhere within a 5-hour radius we can drive to get her out of the pressure. We resigned to just stay in Charleston and be near our familiar docs and hospital. Watching her seize with increased frequency and intensity had me feeling so hopeless, as we will be trapped by this storm for a while.

Then I read this scripture this morning.

Daniel 6:22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight.

My God has the power to enable us to not be hurt by this “beast” of a storm even though we have to spend quite a few nights with it!

I have also been praying this over her today:

Psalm 58:6 Break the teeth in their mouths, O God;

Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions!

Her seizures have truly quieted down. I will be praying this for all of you as well – no matter what beast you’re facing.

Daniel 6:27 He rescues and he saves;

he performs signs and wonders

in the heavens and on the earth.

He has rescued Daniel

from the power of the lions.” (And He will rescue us, too!)
